Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-20

1. Acceptance

By registering for or using Otto you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't agree with any of them, don't use the service. These terms form a legal agreement between you and Insyder LLC (Wyoming, USA). Questions to support@ottopocket.com.

2. What Otto is

Otto detects your recurring subscriptions by reading (with your permission) your Gmail inbox, displays the information on a dashboard and — if you turn them on — helps you cancel them and clean up your inbox. A detailed description of each function and the permissions it requires is in the privacy policy.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or have guardian consent) and have legal capacity to contract.
  • You need an active Google account to connect Gmail.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
  • An Otto account is tied to a single person; sharing credentials is not allowed.

4. What you agree to

  • Use Otto only for your own data. Don't connect Gmail accounts that aren't yours or that you don't have explicit authorization to connect.
  • Don't try to access other users' data or parts of the system that don't belong to you.
  • No reverse engineering, mass scraping, or attempts to break the service's security.
  • Don't use Otto to send spam, phishing, or any illegal communication via the cancellation function.
  • Review each cancellation draft before sending (Otto shows you the content) — you are responsible for the email that goes out of your mailbox.
  • Don't use Otto for illegal activities or activities that violate Google's terms.

5. What we agree to

  • Keep the service running with reasonable availability (99.5% target, no contractual guarantee while the service is in its current version).
  • Handle your data according to our privacy policy.
  • Notify you by email of substantive changes to the service or to these terms at least 30 days in advance when applicable.
  • Keep the subprocessor list in the privacy policy current.

6. Plans, prices and billing

6.1. Free version

Otto offers a free version with basic functionality (subscription detection, one connected Gmail). Prices and limits are published on the pricing page and may change; if they do, the new schedule applies starting at your next billing cycle.

6.2. Pro plan and trial period

The Pro plan is sold monthly or annually at the rate shown at the time of subscription. Otto may offer a free trial of up to 7 days to new users. During the trial you can use Pro features at no charge; if you don't cancel before the last day, the first charge is processed automatically.

6.3. Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each cycle (monthly or annually) for the same period, at the prevailing price, until you cancel. You will receive a confirmation email for each charge. You can cancel renewal at any time from Settings → Subscription; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billed cycle and you keep Pro access until then.

6.4. Refunds

Otto's 7-day free trial is designed so you only get charged after you've seen what the service does. Once a paid charge is processed, refunds are governed by our refund policy — which covers the statutory cooling-off rights of consumers in Argentina, the EU, and the UK, plus a general first-time-customer refund window. To request a refund, write to support@ottopocket.com.

6.5. Failed payments

If a charge fails, we'll retry over the following days and notify you by email. If after several attempts the payment is still not completed, your account moves to the free plan — your data is preserved.

6.6. Plan changes

You can change between plans (monthly ↔ annual) or upgrade / downgrade at any time from Settings. Upgrades apply immediately with proration; downgrades take effect at the end of the current cycle.

6.7. Taxes and currency

Displayed prices may not include taxes applicable to your jurisdiction (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.); when applicable, Stripe calculates them and adds them to the charge. Prices are shown in the currency configured for your account; the actual charge is processed by Stripe in USD or another currency depending on your payment method, with conversions handled by your bank/card.

7. Cancellation and account deletion

You can delete your Otto account at any time from Settings → Account or from the deletion page. When you delete your account, all your data is removed within 30 days and any paid subscription is cancelled with no further renewals.

Otto reserves the right to suspend or cancel accounts that violate these terms, with prior notice when possible. For serious violations (fraud, abuse, illegal activity) suspension may be immediate.

8. Artificial intelligence and limitations

Otto uses AI models to detect subscriptions, draft cancellation emails and classify replies. Outputs are approximations: they may contain errors, miss subscriptions, misidentify a charge or draft an email with inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing what the AI produces before acting — especially cancellation drafts, which are sent from your mailbox and on your behalf.

9. Intellectual property

Otto (software, brand, design, content) is owned by Insyder LLC. You retain all rights to your data: what Otto detects, what you manually add, your notes, your cancellations — it's all yours. Otto only processes it to provide the service.

10. Disclaimers

Otto is offered "as is". We do our best to make subscription detection accurate, but we do not guarantee detection of 100% of your subscriptions nor that cancellation emails will be accepted by all providers. You remain responsible for reviewing your expenses and cancelling subscriptions you don't want.

Otto is not a financial, legal or accounting advisor. The information we display is informational only and does not constitute professional advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Insyder LLC nor its officers, employees, subprocessors or affiliates are liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost data, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Otto's maximum cumulative liability, on any cause, is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you have paid Otto in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or (b) USD 100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Otto harmless against third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms, your improper use of the service (including emails sent through the cancellation function) or your violation of third-party rights.

13. Force majeure

Otto is not responsible for failures or interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control: outages of Google APIs, Composio, Stripe, Vercel, Firebase, AI providers, denial-of-service attacks, internet infrastructure failures or similar events.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For substantive changes we notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after notification means acceptance.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute we cannot resolve in good faith will be submitted to the courts of the State of Wyoming. This does not deprive consumers of any rights they may have under mandatory legislation in their place of residence.
