Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-16
1. Acceptance
By registering for or using Otto you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't agree with any of them, don't use the service. These terms form a legal agreement between you and Insyder LLC (Wyoming, USA). Questions to support@ottopocket.com.
2. What Otto is
Otto detects your recurring subscriptions by reading (with your permission) your Gmail inbox, displays the information on a dashboard and — if you turn them on — helps you cancel them, negotiate a better price on the ones you keep, and clean up your inbox. A detailed description of each function and the permissions it requires is in the privacy policy.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or have guardian consent) and have legal capacity to contract.
- You need an active Google account to connect Gmail.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
- An Otto account is tied to a single person; sharing credentials is not allowed.
4. What you agree to
- Use Otto only for your own data. Don't connect Gmail accounts that aren't yours or that you don't have explicit authorization to connect.
- Don't try to access other users' data or parts of the system that don't belong to you.
- No reverse engineering, mass scraping, or attempts to break the service's security.
- Don't use Otto to send spam, phishing, or any illegal communication via the cancellation or negotiation functions.
- For cancellations, Otto shows you the draft before it sends and you are responsible for reviewing it. For negotiations you activate on autopilot, you authorize Otto to contact your providers and send messages on your behalf without previewing each one — see the authorization in section 6.6. Either way the emails leave your own mailbox and you are responsible for having authorized the action.
- Don't use Otto for illegal activities or activities that violate Google's terms.
5. What we agree to
- Keep the service running with reasonable availability (99.5% target, no contractual guarantee while the service is in its current version).
- Handle your data according to our privacy policy.
- Notify you by email of substantive changes to the service or to these terms at least 30 days in advance when applicable.
- Keep the subprocessor list in the privacy policy current.
6. Pricing: free service and success fee
6.1. Free core service
Otto's core service — the inbox scan, the subscriptions dashboard and assisted cancellations — is provided free of charge. There is no subscription price for these functions.
6.2. Success fee on negotiations
When you ask Otto to negotiate the price of one of your subscriptions or services, the following applies: if, and only if, Otto obtains a verified saving — a lower price confirmed on your subsequent bill from the provider — Otto charges a service fee of 25% of the total verified saving over the duration of the promotion obtained. If Otto does not obtain a saving, there is no charge — ever.
6.3. How the fee is paid
Otto does not store your card and cannot charge you automatically. When you activate a negotiation you commit to paying the success fee described in section 6.2 if — and only if — Otto obtains a saving for you. When that happens, Otto sends you a payment link showing the exact amount and how it was calculated (section 6.4), and you pay it yourself. If there is no saving, there is no link and nothing to pay.
6.4. How the fee is calculated
The fee is calculated on the real difference you pay: the actual amount on your bill before the negotiation minus the actual amount after it, added up over the months the obtained promotion lasts. It is never calculated on the "% off" or list-price figures a provider advertises, which are frequently inflated. The exact amount and its calculation are shown to you before any charge is processed.
6.5. Refunds and disputes
Success-fee charges are governed by our refund policy, which covers the statutory cooling-off rights of consumers in Argentina, the EU and the UK, plus what happens if a provider reverts a negotiated discount. If you believe a fee was charged on a saving that was not actually applied, write to support@ottopocket.com.
6.6. Autopilot authorization (acting on your behalf)
When you activate a negotiation, you authorize Otto to act as your limited agent for that purpose: to contact the relevant provider and send messages from your connected mailbox on your behalf, in order to obtain a better price. Under the autopilot model Otto sends these messages without showing you each draft first — the authorization you give when you activate the negotiation stands in for per-message approval. Two limits protect you: Otto acts only within the scope you authorized (negotiating your own subscriptions and services, nothing else), and it will not accept on your behalf any offer that binds you to a new commitment — such as a minimum-term, a permanence clause or a plan change — without checking with you first. You can withdraw this authorization at any time from your dashboard, which stops Otto from sending further messages for pending negotiations. You remain the holder of your mailbox and are responsible for having authorized Otto to act.
6.7. Legacy paid plans
If you purchased a legacy Otto Pro subscription before the success-fee model launched, the subscription terms in force at the time of your purchase (including auto-renewal, proration and cancellation rules) continue to apply to that plan until you cancel it or migrate to the current model.
7. Cancellation and account deletion
You can delete your Otto account at any time from Settings → Account or from the deletion page. When you delete your account, all your data is removed within 30 days and any paid subscription is cancelled with no further renewals.
Otto reserves the right to suspend or cancel accounts that violate these terms, with prior notice when possible. For serious violations (fraud, abuse, illegal activity) suspension may be immediate.
8. Artificial intelligence and limitations
Otto uses AI models to detect subscriptions, draft cancellation and negotiation emails and classify replies. Outputs are approximations: they may contain errors, miss subscriptions, misidentify a charge or draft an email with inaccuracies. For cancellations, Otto shows you the draft so you can review it before it sends. For negotiations you run on autopilot, you have authorized Otto (section 6.6) to send messages on your behalf without previewing each one; by activating autopilot you accept that Otto's drafts — which may contain the inaccuracies above — are sent from your mailbox without your per-message review. Otto still will not, on your behalf, accept an offer that binds you to a new commitment without checking with you first.
9. Intellectual property
Otto (software, brand, design, content) is owned by Insyder LLC. You retain all rights to your data: what Otto detects, what you manually add, your notes, your cancellations — it's all yours. Otto only processes it to provide the service.
10. Disclaimers
Otto is offered "as is". We do our best to make subscription detection accurate, but we do not guarantee detection of 100% of your subscriptions nor that cancellation emails will be accepted by all providers. You remain responsible for reviewing your expenses and cancelling subscriptions you don't want.
Otto is not a financial, legal or accounting advisor. The information we display is informational only and does not constitute professional advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Insyder LLC nor its officers, employees, subprocessors or affiliates are liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost data, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Otto's maximum cumulative liability, on any cause, is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you have paid Otto in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or (b) USD 100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Otto harmless against third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms, your improper use of the service (including emails sent through the cancellation function) or your violation of third-party rights.
13. Force majeure
Otto is not responsible for failures or interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control: outages of Google APIs, Composio, Stripe, Vercel, Firebase, AI providers, denial-of-service attacks, internet infrastructure failures or similar events.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For substantive changes we notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after notification means acceptance.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute we cannot resolve in good faith will be submitted to the courts of the State of Wyoming. This does not deprive consumers of any rights they may have under mandatory legislation in their place of residence.
